A traditional Indian sweet made for festivals, Ukadiche Modak is stuffed with a delightful mixture of khoa, coconut, nuts, and jaggery, then steamed to perfection. This recipe includes preparing both the filling and the dough, and assembling the modaks in a mold for steaming.

Instructions

1: Mix together Khoa, Jaggery, Shredded Coconut, Chopped Nuts, Crushed Cardamoms, and Ghee for the filling mixture and set aside.

2: Boil Water, add Ghee and Salt in a pot, then turn off stove and add Rice Flour. Mix and let it cool.

3: Transfer the dough mix into a bowl, add more Ghee, and bring the dough together using hands.

4: Divide dough into equal parts and form into balls.

5: Grease the modak mold with Ghee.

6: Close the mold, place a dough ball inside, making space in the center.

7: Fill the center with the khoa mixture and seal the modak with more dough.

8: Gently take them out and cover with a damp cloth until ready for steaming.

9: Top with saffron strands and steam for 12-15 minutes.

10: Serve warm with Ghee and enjoy!
